We are a young people and family counselling service based in Buckinghamshire and Hertfordshire. We support children, young people and families throughout Dacorum, Three Rivers, Chilterns and South Buckinghamshire that are going through difficult times and challenging life experiences.

Our services are suitable for all young people affected by tough situations, or are in poor mental health, either temporarily or ongoing. We will help you develop new coping skills, manage change or find a way to have healthier and happier relationships with friends or family members.

Way In has been around since 1988 and we’ve worked hard to develop our youth and family counselling services to extremely high standards.

How youth and family counselling works

We have a team of highly skilled therapists who are trained in all aspects of youth and family counselling. Through our partnerships with a number of local agencies we’ve been able to expand the range of services available. This means we can call on a variety of additional resources when we need to, ensuring exceptional counselling provision for the young people and families who need us.

From your first contact with us we take you seriously and keep all of our interactions strictly confidential. No parts of our discussion is shared with anyone, unless we are concerned for your safety.

We like to involve the whole family in the process. We usually see the whole family together, supported by two different counsellors. This way of working encourages everyone to have their say and to share their feelings without arguments or blame.

Working with Us: Volunteering and counselling training opportunities

We usually have placement opportunities available for therapists in training or newly qualified therapists working towards accreditation. Please contact us to find out more.
